Peritus were engaged to support the client for a deep-water field in 1100m water depth and 180 km north of Exmouth, Western Australia. The development will comprise of sub-sea wells producing back through flow lines to a semi-submersible floating production facility with lazy-wave SCR risers and an export pipeline to tie-in with existing pipeline. Production facilities on the semi-sub include mercury removal, TEG dehydration, compression, condensate treatment, MEG regeneration and reclamation and water treatment for overboard disposal. Peritus have had an ongoing role supporting the client since Pre-FEED through to FID. The scope of Peritus’s involvement has included verification work, specific SCR studies, and provision of specialist personnel for a significant part of the owner’s engineering team. Peritus has provided support in topsides delivery, process engineering, rotating equipment, instrumentation and controls, subsea systems, riser and mooring analysis.
The field consists of a small light oil accumulation with a large gas cap & an aquifer. Reserves are extracted using 2 subsea production wells with flowlines tied back to an FPSO. The FPSO is be equipped with a disconnectable turret moored system & its own propulsion system to allow evasion of tropical cyclones. Water injection is required for pressure maintenance. Excess gas is re-injected into a separate gas field for sustainable disposal & future re-use of the gas.
Peritus supported the client from pre-FEED and FEED through Execution to Handover from projects to the Operations team. The FEED support included assisting in the preparation of contract documents including scope of work, specifications for both project & operations phases, compensation & incentive schemes, & key contractual requirements & terms for an FPSO lease. Assistance in the management of the tender process including managing of tender phase negotiations, tender analysis, formal recommendations & support of internal approval processes. Peritus also undertook the FEED for the SURF components of the development. This included the selection of subsea architecture, subsea system & subsea controls & hardware; & the development of Subsea equipment & riser flowline tender packages required to develop the Field.
