Steve Hindmarsh - MSc FIEAust CPEng

Steve Hindmarsh has 30 years of oil and gas experience including four years with a major operator developing and maintaining offshore oil and gas field and nearly 25 years managing international engineering and construction offices and divisions in The Netherlands, Malaysia, United Kingdom and Australia.

Steve has worked in senior technical, management and executive positions for major international subsea consultants and engineers including RJ Brow and Associates, J P Kenny, Kvaerner and INTEC Engineering and has an exceptional knowledge of the subsea and marine engineering industry.

Steve holds a Master’s Degree in Structural Design from Cranfield Institute of Technology in England. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia and an Associate Member of the Australian Institute of Management.

Steve has also completed an executive management course at the Institute of International management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Graham Taylor – BSc (Hons) CEng CMarEng FIMarEST

Graham Taylor has over 29 years of experience in management and engineering associated with offshore, subsea design and field and construction experience. He has been involved in preliminary and detailed design of pipelines, bundles, risers, protection structures, templates, manifolds. Responsible for Field Development work, including subsea concept selection, architecture, FEED and project delivery. Graham also has extensive experience in HP/HT pipelines, upheaval buckling JIP, strain-based design, ECAs, ITT development & evaluation, offshore construction & installation management. Graham has project managed a number of development projects including the West Delta Deep Marine deepwater, long distance tie-back development offshore Egypt.

His most recent experience covers Engineering Manager, Managing Director for INTEC EAME and Senior Vice President Europe and Africa for INTECSEA.

Graham holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering (hons), is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Marine Engineer. He attended the program for Managing Corporate Resources at the Institute of International Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland. Graham is a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (FIMarEST).

Ian Nash has 27 years general engineering experience, the last 23 of which have been specialised in subsea engineering and offshore pipeline design and installation in Europe and China.

Ian’s Project Management experience includes the detailed design of Europipe Gas Pipeline from Norway to Germany, Canyon Express development of 3 subsea fields in 2200m water depth, Medgaz pipeline systems from Algeria to Spain crossing numerous fault zones and subsea canyons, detailed design of production flowlines, service lines and associated structures for Angola Block 31 PSVM Development as well as other detailed and conceptual engineering projects, and installation activities.

He has worked in Senior Positions with INTECSEA, Saipem and SASP Offshore Engineering as well as technical positions with ABB Global, RJ Brown & Assoc and JP Kenny in Europe, America and Asia Pacific.

Ian holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (hons), is a Chartered Engineer, European Engineer and a Chartered Marine Engineer. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (FIMarEST).

Stephen Rivers - BSc FIEAUST CPEng

Stephen Rivers has over 25 years experience in engineering and engineering management, the majority of which have been spent in the offshore oil and gas industry specialising in design and installation of marine pipelines and subsea systems.

He has experience with engineering consultancies, EPC contractors and Operator organisations in the North Sea, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Caspian Sea regions.

Stephen has been previously employed by INTECSEA, J Ray McDermott, Kvaerner Engineering & Construction, R J Brown & Associates, and Brown & Root Construction.

Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia CP Eng (Mechanical).

Chin Eng Teh - BSc (1st Class Hons.) PhD

Chin Teh has 19 years design experience of onshore gathering systems and offshore subsea facilities and for the past 10 years, as Lead Engineer on Flow Assurance in numerous onshore developments and subsea projects ranging from shallow to deepwater fields.

Chin has management experience covering flow assurance teams, lead roles in technical studies and field development projects ranging from Concept Screening (Pre-Feasibility), FEED to Detailed Engineering Design Phases and extensive experience with steady state and dynamic modeling of oil and gas pipeline systems and surge analysis of liquid pipeline systems. He has performed numerous flow assurance studies of pipeline systems including the thermal hydraulic analysis of multiphase systems and the prediction, prevention and mitigation of potential flow impairment issues for offshore projects in Europe, Americas, Africa and Asia-Pacific regions and for onshore projects in Africa, Middle East and Eastern Europe.

Chin has held senior technical and managerial roles on flow assurance for major companies such as Petrofac (UK), INTEC Australia (now INTECSEA), KBR (UK) and McDermott Engineering (Europe).

Chin has several published papers and is a member of the Society of Petroleum of Engineers.

Bill Neilson - BSc (1st Class Hons) MSc

Bill Neilson has 31 years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry in all phases of development from appraisal to detailed design, construction and maintenance. Bill has worked as part of a client team on a number of occasions negotiating scopes of work and supervising engineering and construction.

Management experience includes Operations Director for Pegasis International (formerly Mentor Project Engineering). Bill was also responsible for Business Development. Other industry experience includes 8 years with J P Kenny.

Bill has worked on a number of major projects - in various roles – including Centrica Bird, ATP Tors and Kilmar NW, SLP MacCulloch, CNR Baobab, BP Forties Replacement Pipeline, Marathon, East Brae and DONG Stine Segment 2.

David Kennare has 21 years engineering experience including facilities development from technical feasibility reviews through conceptual development to detailed engineering, construction, commissioning and operation of oil and gas processes both onshore and offshore.

His Management experience includes strategic development and business planning, marketing and business development, acquisition management, integration and business operational management and growth.

David has previously been employed by Boral Energy, AMEC and IGL Engineering and has worked in the UK, Asia & Australia

He has a Fellowship in chemical engineering, is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Jie Fang, BSc, PhD

Dr. Jie Fang, has 20 years of experience working on engineering projects in offshore oil and gas and subsea pipeline industries, specializing in hydrodynamics and structural dynamics of slender bodies such as marine risers, cables, umbilicals, mooring lines and pipelines. His experience includes managing pipeline installation engineering projects as Head of Analysis, European Marine Contractors Ltd, and design of deepwater risers and flow lines and arctic pipelines.

In the past decade, Dr. Fang has gained extensive experience in the design and installation of dynamic risers in deep and ultra deep water. He's led projects around the world including the Gulf of Mexico, West Africa and Western Australia. He has also participated in numerous conferences and workshops with significant technical publications.

Jie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China, and a PhD in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from University College London.

Ken Hook - BSc (Hons) MSc CEng

Ken Hook is a UK chartered Naval Architect with over thirty years marine and offshore experience; including twenty years experience as owner’s resident engineer, shipyard site representative and offshore installation representative for a number of FPSO, FSO and SPM projects. Examples include Bongkot FSO for Total in Thailand, Erawan FSU life extension for Unocal in Thailand, CFD11 FPSO for Kerr McGee in China, and Pyrenees FPSO for BHPB in Australia.
Ken has worked in South East Asia, Europe, Norway, China, Mexico, USA, and Australia; and is now based in the UK.

Ken is experienced in the preparation of detailed technical specifications and procedures for new-build, refurbished & converted vessels and mooring systems; for preparation of contract documents, project execution plans, general administration procedures, and Invitation to Bid packages for repair, conversion and new fabrication projects; and for general FPSO/SPM support including troubleshooting, contractor's documentation reviews, project scheduling, project control and change order verification/negotiation.

Russell Smith - BEng MSc PhD

Russell Smith is a Subsea Umbilical, Riser and Flowline (SURF) professional with 22 years experience in industry and research. He has been primarily been involved with Design & Analysis, Project Engineering & Management and Business Development, with an emphasis on Flexibles, Integrity Management and related technologies. Responsible for the design of several riser and umbilical systems in the Australia, Brazil, Gulf of Mexico, Mediterranean, North Sea and West Africa. Acted as a technical authority in various Joint Industry Projects (JIPs) for fatigue analysis of Flexibles Risers and Steel Tube Umbilicals. Developed software for Flexible Riser Hysteresis and Extreme Value Statistics (both in Flexcom), Flexible Riser & Umbilical Fatigue Analysis and Bend Stiffener Design. Acquired extensive experience as a senior advisor in a leading oilfield services company for subsea integrity monitoring based on fibre-optic sensor and composite materials technologies. Russell has degrees in Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering (BEng, PhD) and Mathematics (MSc).

Peter Carr - BEng MSc CEng

Peter Carr is a UK Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer with almost 40 years of experience. In his early career, Peter was involved with the design of buildings, harbors, petrochemical works, and oil and gas facilities. During the last 25 years, he has specialized in risk assessment, reliability analysis, and integrity management. He has been the HSE Manager for a number of major offshore development projects, including platforms (Chevron Alba etc.), floating facilities (Kerr McGee Gryphon FPSO, BP Schiehallion FPSO, etc.) and pipelines (Shell Malampaya, BP Magnus Enhanced Oil Recovery, MedGaz, BP Mardi Gras, etc.). He has performed many quantitative risk analyses (QRAs), safety studies, and reliability studies for oil and gas facilities, subsea equipment, pipelines and risers. He has extensive experience in risk-based inspection (RBI), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) analysis. He is expert in development of custom-made probabilistic models for risk assessment and risk-based decision making.

John Ballantyne - BEng CEng MiChemE

John is a chartered chemical engineer with over 20 years experience in upstream and downstream oil and gas operations, projects and developments both offshore and onshore and in particular field development studies.

In this time, John has worked in Norway, UK, Netherlands, Australasia and the Middle-east on most of the project life-cycle including: concept design, FEED, detailed design, commissioning, and operations trouble-shooting. In addition, John has experience of operations management, marketing, business development and has experience facilitating HAZOP and design reviews and framing workshops.

John has been previously employed in staff and contract roles with Shell, BP and Texaco, amongst others and has a strong background as a consultant.

Steve Sinclair - BEng Chem (Hons), AlChemE

Over 20 years process facilities and project & engineering management experience, including responsibility for all project stages from concept through shipyard construction and commissioning of the major and successful Stybarrow FPSO facility. Steve has extensive facilities engineering and management experience, both onshore and offshore, ranging from technical feasibility reviews through to conceptual development, to detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, operation and brownfield modification of oil and gas facilities. Steve also has substantial field development experience including most recently the responsibility for the concept select and pre-FEED stages of Woodside’s Lady Nora oil field and prior to that for having been involved from concept select through to commissioning in BHP Billiton’s Stybarrow development.

Steve has extensive FPSO experience having been involved both in FPSO projects and in ongoing engineering maintenance operations for existing FPSOs. Steve also has extensive Gas To Liquids (GTL) experience having held major responsibility for a prototype (and Australia’s only) gas to methanol plant and having been involved in extensive floating GTL and LNG studies.

Steve has previously been employed by Woodside, Apache, BHP and ICI and has worked in the UK, Singapore, Japan & Australia.
